Sunny Cove offers a variety of regularly scheduled kayak/camping adventures, plus a number of custom trips and some great combination adventures. You should be able to find a trip to match your schedule, budget, and sense of adventure. (See Tour Selector / Kayak Camping for more info.)
Caines Head Overnight
This trip originates at Lowell Point (see locations page) and overnights at Caines Head State Recreation Area. This is a beautiful area that offers encounters with numerous species of wildlife, from sea otters and sea lions to bald eagles and many varieties of sea birds. Trails at Caines Head provide spectacular views of Resurrection Bay and the Gulf of Alaska.

This two day guided adventure includes kayaking equipment and instruction, delicious camping meals, camping and hiking at Caines Head State Recreation Area. Appropriate for all experience levels.


Fox Island Escape
Ever dream of escaping to a remote wilderness island? This three day / two night adventure could be your chance. The coast around Fox Island and nearby Eldorado Narrows is spectacular and makes a truly remarkable area for sea kayaking. Marvel at the geology, delight in the marine life, this is magical place. Far enough out into Resurrection Bay to offer a glimpse of life on the outer coast yet also providing protected waters in beautiful coves.

This three day guided adventure includes kayaking equipment and instruction, two nights camping in a secluded cove, rain forest hiking and beach combing. Also includes Kenai Fjords Tours Wildlife Cruise and Salmon Bake. Appropriate for all experience levels.

Resurrection Bay Exploration
This tour originates on Fox Island and ventures forth to explore either Bear Glacier or Thumbs Cove, two of the jewels of Resurrection Bay. Bear Glacier and its iceberg filled lagoon lie just within the eastern border of Kenai Fjords National Park. Thumbs Cove is a State Marine Park and is surrounded by stunning basalt peaks and cliffs draped in hanging glaciers. A salmon spawning stream in the back of the cove attracts many bald eagles and the occasional black bear to the feast.

This five day guided adventure includes kayaking equipment and instruction, four nights camping, great camping meals, exploration and beach combing. Also includes Kenai Fjords Tours Wildlife Cruise and Salmon Bake. This tour can involve some longer paddling days and more exposed paddling conditions.

Kenai Fjords National Park Exploration
Remote, pristine, little visited, Northwestern Fjord in Kenai Fjords National Park is truly one of the world's most remarkable sea kayaking destinations. Paddle amidst icebergs and seals while watching tidewater glaciers calve into protected waters. This stunning location is all the more dramatic and rare due to its relatively recent glacial retreat (When this area was first charted earlier this century, it was covered by ice a mile deep!).

This five day guided adventure includes kayaking equipment and instruction, four nights camping, great camping meals, hiking, and charter transportation to and from Northwestern Fjord.

Kenai Fjords Nat'l Park / Aialik Bay Glacier Adventure 3 days / 2 nights
Experience Aialik Bay, where Holgate & Aialik Glaciers shed their ice to create some of the most magnificent scenery coastal Alaska has to offer. Aialik's glaciers grace the vista from hanging glaciers that tower above to tidewater glaciers that flow into the seas below, affording us the opportunity to experience this wonderland of mountains and ice - up close and personal. Paddle amidst seals seals and whales, watch exotic seabirds soar overhead, keep a look out for bears, and experience the beauty that is Alaska. This 3 day, 2 night adventure includes round trip personal charter transportation from Seward, kayak/camping equipment, specialty camping meals and guide/naturalists.
