Campbell Creek Canyon
Williwaw Lakes Trail - From the Glen Alps trailhead, hike about .6 miles to the trail off Powerline Trail, marked Middle Fork Loop Trail. This trail descends to crosses a footbridge over the South Fork of Campbell Creek and continues north for about a mile. It then turns up the Middle fork Valley climbing steadily through mountain hemlock, willow brush and tundra to several alpine lakes. An alternate, more strenuous, route begins after crossing the bridge over the South fork. It then climbs steeply up a gully and over a saddle to cross a broad, tundra meadow called the Ballpark (this prominent feature can readily be seen from Anchorage) to a rocky gorge that drops steeply to Black Lake. The loose rocks make the part of the route dangerous, use extreme care.
