Turnagain Arm Trail

This old reliable is a favorite of everyone who hikes the Chugach. Running or walking: morning, noon or night: any day of the week, the hike through the woods, with occasional great views of Turnagain Arm below and the rocky heights above, is never dull and often quite dangerous - as I have discovered on more than one winter trip across its upper reaches. The popular trail starts across the Seward Highway from the Potter Section House south of Anchorage.
