Indian Valley to Indian Creek Pass
The trail follows Indian Creek, gently climbing through forests and meadows with few steep places. However, it can be wet and muddy and may be overgrown in places in late summer. About 3 miles after starting, the trail leaves the forest. The pass is carpeted with alpine tundra and patches of scrub hemlock. From the pass to the Ship Creek Valley trailhead (14 miles) is mostly unmarked with stream crossings and areas of brush and bogs, making route finding difficult.
The 19 mile journey between Ship Creek Valley and Indian Valley trailheads is a popular spring ski traverse with spectacular scenery. The route is unmarked and ends with a steep icy descent. Two to three avalanche prone areas are along the route.
