Icy Strait / Gustavus
This catamaran goes from Juneau to Gustavus with whale watching and a nature tour. Gustavus is at the head of Glacier Bay National Park. We love this cruise. It takes a whole day.

Pack Creek Bear viewing area
Check and make sure the bears will be there before making arrangements. You have to take a small float plane over to the area and get a special permit.

Flightseeing from Juneau
This is something that we have wanted to do for a long time and would be interested if someone wants to go, too!Take off from Juneau and head over the glaciers enroute to Taku Lodge (built in 1923). You will eat lunch at the lodge and get to walk around. The lodge is located amid snocapped mountain peaks and awesome glaciers in a valley abundant in wildlife.

Day Activities in Juneau
Mt. Roberts hike- free
You can hike to the top of one of the highest peaks in Juneau and have a great view. The trailhead is in downtown Juneau. There is a lodge at the top where you can get lunch and go on a nature tour. You can ride the tram down to the base. You can take the tram up as well (about $15).
Hiking on Juneau trails
There are many trails accessible from the road system in Juneau for all levels of hikers. We can suggest trails to fit your abilities.
Glacier Gardens
Beautiful view gardens nestled on scenic Thunder Mountain. 907-790-3377.
Kayaking
There are places to rent kayaks where they will drop them at your launch site. There are also guided tours. You could go out for 1/2 day or a couple of days. We are very into kayaking and would be able to help you with plans.

Mendenhall Glacier and Visitor's Center
Ten minutes from downtown Juneau. Glacier Visitors' Center is new and is full of information about the glacier.
