| Workshop Description: If you are looking to install a solar hot water system in Alaska, and earn a return on your investment, this exciting workshop is for you. You will learn what new solar thermal technologies are available in Alaska (flat plate and evacuated tubes). The workshop will include a short KTUU news video of a flat plate solar hot water system operating in east Anchorage since September 2008. This system is the one in the photo above and it is located near DeBarr Road and Edwards Ave; you can visit this site on August 15th as part of the Alaska Solar Tour. A commercial solar hot water system in Kasilof, Alaska, will also be discussed - this system uses solar heat to offset wood burning in a 2000 gallon GARN high efficiency wood boiler. | ||||||||||||||||||
