World Class Fishing on Alaska's Remote Rivers.

Alagnak River 1998 --Your chance to fish with the bears. PHOTOS

It is an extraordinary Rainbow Trout and Red Salmon fishery and we will almost certainly see some of the bears of Katmai Park. (They too, know about good fishing.)

This beautiful Western Alaska river begins in the Aleutian Mountains and flows through Katmai National Park. It is a spectacular fishing trip and this float always delivers good wildlife viewing. Katmai is famous for the chance to view bears fishing its rivers. The Alagnak delivers this rare and wonderful opportunity. Up to 8 species of fish can be caught in a single float. King Salmon run up to 50 lbs. Silver fishing can be excellent with fish up to 15 lbs. But the river is host to phenomenal numbers of Reds and this is the real reason to visit the Alagnak. Literally millions of Reds swarm upriver late in June. The run peaks in mid July and continues throughout the month.

This is also one of the great Trout streams of the Iliamna drainage and a trip in September offers the opportunity to tie into a truly huge Rainbow (and a few Silvers, too). Fish over 10 lbs. are not uncommon and many of the fish caught are over 20". The biggest rainbow we have ever caught was an Alagnak River Rainbow that went just over 26 pounds! Fall finds the tundra blazing with color and many animals down by the river. It is a great time to be in Alaska and if you like big rainbows, you'll be a fan of our Fall trips on the Alagnak.

Alagnak 1998 -- 7 days/6 nights, $2495/person. July 12, July 19, July 26, Aug 30, Sept 6. From King Salmon.

Goodnews River 1998 -- Incredible fishing. PHOTOS

Serene & beautiful -- and fish in such numbers that the schools must part to allow the boats to pass.

A beautiful and unspoiled river in Western Alaska, the Goodnews is a fisherman's dream river. It threads its way through the Ahklun Range and from the headwaters to our take-out, these emerald mountains are never far away. This river offers some of the finest fishing in Alaska.

The stars of the river are the Silvers. We think this is the best Silver Salmon fishing to be found anywhere based on the number, size and freshness of fish. Add excellent fishing for Rainbows, extraordinary numbers of Dollies & Arctic Char, big Grayling and even a few Lake Trout. Only the Goodnews has it all. Up to 10 species of fish can be caught in a single float.

The river is tightly controlled and only 9 operators have commercial permits on the river. While we normally see another float trip or two and a few motor boats in the lower reaches, there is very little pressure on the river. We are limited to only 4 trips each year and they fill quickly. Book early if you want to float this spectacular river.

Goodnews 1998 -- 7 days/6 nights, $2795/person. Aug 12, Aug 19, Aug 26. From Dillingham.

Lake Creek 1998 -- Fishing, whitewater & beautiful scenery. PHOTOS

Lake Creek is a great river for families and fishermen alike and perfect for those who want to float a beautiful wild river.

Much of Lake Creek's 55 mile length is spiked with fun boulder garden type class III+ rapids. A string of old trappers cabins dots the river's course. Upstream views frequently frame Mt. McKinley and short side hikes lead us to bountiful berry patches and excellent views of the entire Alaska Range.

The river's rocky course creates many holes pockets and drifts and much of the river is ideal for the fly fisherman. The river hosts good Salmon runs along with Rainbow Trout and Grayling. This diversity makes Lake Creek one of the finest float trips in Alaska.

An optional extension will let you spend a few more nights at one of Alaska's lodges. Not only is this a great option for the fisherman who wants a few more days of prime fishing, it is a wonderful experience for the whole family.

Lake Creek 1998 -- 6 days/5 nights $1995/person. Jun 15, Jun 22, Jul 27, Aug 3, Aug 10.

Lonesome River 1998 -- A wilderness trip second to none. PHOTOS

Float a wild & scenic river through the mountains and enjoy some excellent fishing along the way.

A beautiful and unspoiled river in Southcentral Alaska, the Lonesome is a great river float combining beautiful scenery, whitewater and great fishing. It is truly a wild and scenic river. It also offers some of the finest fishing in Alaska. Several species of fish can be caught in a single float and it hosts excellent fishing for kings. Add excellent fishing for Rainbows, big Grayling and even Arctic Char.

We seldom see another float trip and only a few jet boats interrupt our serenity in the lower reaches --, there is very little pressure on the river. We are offering only 2 trips each year and they will fill quickly. Book early if you want to float this spectacular river.

World Class Fishing on the Upper Kenai River in the Kenai National Wildlife Refuge

Kenai Peninsula Cabin Packages 1998 -- Big rainbows, millions of salmon. PHOTOS

A smorgasbord of great fishing -- the best of the rivers, lakes and the ocean -- all in a beautiful setting.

There are few fisheries as rich as those of the Kenai. Each day you have a choice of at least two species of Salmon, big Halibut, trophy Rainbows, Dolly Varden and Grayling. It's a place where you'll want to spend several days to fully appreciate the astounding array of fishing opportunities. A three to five day package at the Log Cabin Loft in Cooper Landing is an exceptional value. You fly in to a remote lake or stream, venture onto the salt water to fish for Salmon or Halibut and, of course fish the fabled Kenai. All meals, lodging, guides and equipment are included.

Combine the incredible streams of the Kenai Peninsula, with fishing salt water for Salmon and Halibut and a full day fly in fishing adventure. The fly-out locations are spectacular and can offer anything from light tackle for Grayling in a mountain lake to a different species of Salmon. These packages are our best value and include all meals, lodging, fishing gear and tackle, license and, of course, our expert guides.

For non-anglers, there are scenic floats, guided hikes, easy walks and full day tours to the nearby parks.

Kenai cabins packages 1998 -- 3 day/3 nt. Pkg. - $1595/person dbl.

5 day/6 nt. Pkg. - $2195/person dbl.

World Class Photography on Alaska's Remote Rivers.

Alagnak River Photo Safari 1998 -- Great bear photos and much more.

Brooks Falls & a float on the Alagnak. (It is an extraordinary experience to share this river with the bears of Katmai.)

This trip begins with a day at Brooks Falls then takes us floating on the Alagnak -- a beautiful Western Alaska river that begins in the Aleutian Mountains and flows through Katmai National Park. It is a spectacular trip. Katmai is famous for the chance to view bears fishing its rivers. The Alagnak delivers this rare and wonderful opportunity. Incredible numbers of salmon is what brings the bears and other wildlife such as eagle, fox, otter, mink and even the rare wolf.

By this time of year, the fish are in full spawning colors and the spectacle of them swarming around in the pools and rushing upriver make great subjects. (Bring a polarizing filter for best results.) Historic log cabins, moose, caribou, rustic lodges and the unique geology of Katmai and its tundra landscapes will all contribute to a wonderful portfolio from this trip.

Alagnak Photo 1998 -- 7 days/6 nights, $3495/person. July 29. From King Salmon

Aichilik River Wildlife Float 1998 -- Caribou, wolf & bear.

One of the best rivers in Alaska for seeing the caribou migration under the midnight sun.

Come float into the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge if you like the idea of visiting a northern treasure. Summer is brief and this short respite from the harshness of winter creates a temporary profusion of plants and animals that will astound you. The caribou migration is just one aspect of the vast wilderness.

It runs through the prettiest part of the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge, yet this little jewel of a river has seen few visitors. Although the river is beautiful, there was no known landing strip for the plane. That problem was solved in 1990 when we ran the first descent, and now you can float this pristine wild river. Like all of the rivers at this end of the range, caribou herds, the wolves and bear that follow them, goats, sheep, fox, moose and abundant birds are all possible here. A few arctic char offer some fishing. The velvet Arctic tundra offers easy walking and the endless daylight makes hiking and photographic excursions excellent. After leaving the peaks of the Brooks Range the river tumbles out onto the coastal plain where the land comes alive with wildlife and vivid arctic colors.

Aichilik 1998 -- 9 days/8 nights, $2995/person. June 15. From Fairbanks

Lake Creek 1998 -- Whitewater, Mt. McKinley & historic cabins.

Lake Creek is a great river for photographers and fishermen alike and perfect for those who want to float a beautiful wild river.

The bounty of Lake Creek's fishery brings a diverse wildlife population and eagles, bear, moose, beaver and a myriad of birds are frequent visitors. This diversity makes Lake Creek one of the finest float trips in Alaska -- especially for the photographer and wilderness enthusiast.

An optional extension will let you spend a few more nights at one of Alaska's lodges. Not only is this a great option for the fisherman who wants a few days of prime fishing, it will let you meet one of America's top young chefs and it is a wonderful experience for the whole family.

Alaska River Adventures

Day Trips.

Fishing in the Kenai National Wildlife Refuge by Drift Boat.

World class fly fishing for Rainbow Trout, Dolly Varden, Red Salmon and Silver Salmon.

This trip begins at our offices on the headwaters of the Upper Kenai River. We take you into the Refuge away from the crowds -- this stretch of river is closed to motors and only a few companies have a permit to operate here. The rainbows and dollies get big, (fish over 5 pounds are not rare) and the salmon runs are measured in the millions. (How else could those trout get so big?)

We provide all the gear and tackle -- even lunch. Depending on time of year we will outfit you to fish for big trout or acrobatic salmon and very often, both. We fish from 20' Willie Drift boats with lots of elbow room for everybody, stopping to wade and fish the best spots from shore. Our loaner gear includes equipment from G Loomis, Ross, Scientific Angler, STH, Fenwick and Lamiglas. All of our gear is top notch.

Your guide will have a little gray in his hair. Our head guide has over 25 years on this stretch of river and even our "rookie" has over 10 years. They love their work, they're good at it and you find them fun to fish with. They are widely acknowledged to be among Alaska's best.

Kenai Full Day Fish -- 8 am to 6 pm $195/person. Daily. From Cooper Landing

Scenic Float through the Kenai National Wildlife Refuge.

A serene and beautiful trip on the Upper Kenai taking us into the Wildlife Refuge.

Wildlife Viewing: Active eagle nests dot the river corridor while Salmon swim upstream to their spawning grounds. Moose come to the river and its islands to bear their young. Dall Sheep romp on the hillsides above the river. Beavers, bear, otters and even wolves grace us with an occasional visit.

Majestic Scenery: From its headwaters at Kenai Lake, through the old Cooper Landing townsite and into the Wildlife Refuge, this blue-green river curves gracefully through forest and mountain and each turn reveals yet another beautiful sight.

Alaska's History: Cooper Landing was the site of one of Alaska's earliest gold strikes. Old log cabins along the river hint at a fascinating history of native inhabitants and early settlers.

Kenai Scenic Float -- 3 to 4 hours $55/person. Twice Daily. May - August.

Champagne Salmon Bake.

Champagne and fresh Alaskan salmon highlight this gourmet float into the Kenai Wildlife Refuge.

Sip champagne, watch for wildlife and enjoy the spectacular scenery as we float the serene Upper Kenai River. A gentle curve in the river brings us to a riverside gourmet experience. More than just an Alaskan salmon bake, it is a multi-course dinner prepared at the river's edge by our talented staff and it comes with a mouthwatering dessert, after dinner coffees and campfire stories. It is perfect for a company party, an incentive package or just as a getaway for a small group of friends.

Champagne Salmon Bake -- 5 to 6 hrs $125/person. Groups May - August.

Kenai Canyon Run.

Extend our scenic float into an all day adventure on by running the Kenai Canyon.

You'll float the entire stretch of river between Kenai Lake and Skilak Lake, have a great picnic along the way, bounce through some fun waves and see some beautiful sights. The canyon offers the best of the Kenai's whitewater with several stretches of class II to III whitewater. It is a spirited ride but safe enough for everyone. The trip ends with a 1.5 mile nature walk along Hidden Creek Trail to return to meet the waiting shuttle van.

Kenai Canyon Run -- 6 to 7 hours $125/person. Groups May - August.

1/2 Day Fishing on the Upper Kenai by Drift Boat.

World class fly fishing for Rainbow Trout, Dolly Varden, Red Salmon and Silver Salmon.

We offer this trip for those who are short on time. It is similar to the full day trip since you'll use the same gear and go with the same wonderful guides. We float the first 7 miles of the Upper Kenai stopping at several of the best holes and drifts along the way to fish from the bank. The full day trip is a much better value. But if you just can't squeeze it in, treat yourself to a morning or afternoon on this incredible water. If there are non-anglers in your party, the half day scenic is a great way for them to have some fun at the same time as you try your luck.

Kenai 1/2 day Fish -- 5 hours $125/person. Twice Daily May - September.
