I am out of shelve space. I realized I only can buy additional
books if I either add on to the house or reduce my existing book
collection. I can purchase many books for the cost of adding onto
the house. It is tough, but I have to part with some of my books.
I have collected tapestry books and catalogs from many parts of
the world over 25 years. The other day when I was asked to see if
I have a catalog of one of Lausanne Biennales, I dug through my
shelves and discovered a mountain of international books and catalogs
of all sorts.
Most of the books are out of print and the catalogs, well, they
are full of history, inspirations and sentiments with pictures of
the artists. It is difficult to part with any of these, as many
of the books, some with fold-outs, contain high quality illustrations
of incredible tapestries. I am selling all books of tapestries woven
prior 1900. I have so many catalogs, i should sell them by the pound!
