I am passionate about the arts and architecture, and I am equally passionate about travel to foreign countries and tasting ethnic foods. I love brilliant colors. I am inspired by people who are surrounded by an unlimited array of color, like people in India, where no one seems afraid of color.

Although vivid colors energize me, lately I have found working monochromatic with a touch of gold and silver very satisfying. Hopefully new challenges are awaiting me.

I do not have a formal art background. Trying to find a balance in life between that of a struggling artist and a person making a decent living with affording a “few extras” has been a constant struggle in my life. My bread-and-butter job began as a computer programmer in 1968 and I worked in the information technology field till my retirement in 2001. I spent every free minute of my life working on my art projects. There was no time for anything else, which also is a sacrifice and compromise.

I have participated in workshops taught by very accomplished textile and mixed media artists. My training on a sabbatical from my bread-and-butter job at the Manufactures Nationales des Gobelins in Paris, France was my highlight. There are only a few other such places in the world that have this history or status. Links to other noteworthy institutions.

I have designed and woven tapestries for private homes and corporate spaces since 1978. Other experiences include organizing international tapestry exhibitions - oh, yes - ITNET; preparing grant applications for fundraising; corresponding with museums and art institutions; networking with artists worldwide and keeping in contact with fiber institutions on a local, national and international level; exhibiting in galleries and museums nationally and internationally; keeping current with and writing about national and international textile activities, writing articles for textile magazines.
