BOOK For SALE
Guidelines for Hot Work in Confined Spaces: Recommended Practices for Industrial Hygienists and Safety Professionals is available through ASSE Publications for $19.99 ($39.95 for non-ASSE members). Click on their web site link below, click on "publications" and order Publication #4382. Written by our very own Martin Finkel, this guidebook presents effective methods for recognizing, evaluating and controlling the hidden hazards that may be present in a confined space. If you plan to do hot work (welding, torch cutting, etc.) in or on a confined space, you are urged to read this book first.

ESHA has a retail department for internet sales of safety equipment!  Click on the "products" button at the top of the page to see what you can buy at a substantial savings off of list prices for quality instruments!

Sincerely,
Martin H. Finkel, CIH, CMC, CHCM

Industrial Hygiene/ Marine Chemist Services

We have a Certified Marine Chemist on staff in Alaska; he is the only CMC in Alaska. Marine Chemists are experts on confined space entry, and are required by OSHA and USCG regulations for certifying spaces safe on marine vessels prior to hot work or some entry situations.

We have Certified Industrial Hygienists (CIHs) and Certified Safety Professionals (CSPs) who can help you design a safety plan, or an entire safety program for a whole company. They are expert at evaluating chemical exposure problems, noise hazards, etc. and giving you the best control measure to implement. We want to help solve your problems before they lead to worker injury or illness or an OSHA citation.

Call on ESHA first and let us show you what professionalism means in Alaska. Call or write (or email) for a price quotation.
