The Music Links

Here you will find my varied tastes in music. Before becoming a meteorologist, I was majoring in music (French Horn and Keyboard). I guess that explains a lot of my interest in popular music with a classical overtones!

This is my alltime favourite group! Annie Haslam has a mysterious, haunting voice that just mesmerizes you in every song! I shall leave the writing about this group to the very capable hands of the official web site at: Northern Lights: The Renaissance Web Site

Now onto some more of my musical favourites:

• Genesis - This has to be my second favourite group. Although I shall have to make my statement here and now (ha!). I am one of those that likes Genesis from the self titled album (with the nice learning shapes on the cover) and before. I don't know why, but the stuff after that really didn't do it for me. Oh well...One of my friends that I met via the 'net has a most excellent page dedicated to the group. Please visit Mad Man Moon's Genesis Site to see all things Genesis and find some great links. Don't forget to take his survey...he likes to count lots of numbers!
• Yes - I also enjoy the symphonic, rhythmic movement and feel of this group. Of course, my keyboard idol of all time was one of the early members of the group (can't guess? visit here!). So, why not visit YesWorld and enjoy them also.
  
  
  

How exciting!!! Some others favourites include: Queen, Kansas, Boston, Mike Oldfield, and a host of others...and as you have noticed, probably, keyboard and instrumental oriented :)

Whilst on the subject of keyboards, one can take a gander at my latest acquisition. I've been wanting to get back into composition and performance again (since I was a music major before becoming a meteorologist)... so I finally decided to do it!

I just purchased a nice Roland XP-80 Music Workstation.  AWESOME is just about the only word I can use to describe it! The complete description and some great links can be found at Roland's website.
