Notes

8. John Taplin

In the British Census, 1881, Census Place: Bloxham, Oxford, England, John Taplin, ag laboror. age 69. Hannah Taplin, 69, and son Solomon, 19, ag laboror.

Informtion from family Bible of Soloman and Katherine Taplin:
John and Hannah were married.....to this union were born 13 children. Most of the family migrated to the U.S. and scattered over much of the US. For many yeaers Soloman lived in Montana. William lived in Texas, Jonas lived in Iowa. Pamelia married Thomas Alpheck of Chicago. Ellen married Will Badrick of Miles Iowa. Jane remained in England. The last letter received from her was written to Harry F Taplin Esau's youngest son, during WWII, just before the German blitz of London. She has not been heard from since. Daniel had 3 sons- Albert, Arthur, and Harry. For many years Harry lived in Williston, ND until his death at 92 on Jan 21, 1960. His wife Nora Payne Taplin died 5 years before him at 81. Rev. Harry F. Taplin, a minister living at that time in Bismark, ND officiated at both their funerals. Esau was born in England and he migrated to America Nov. 8, 1881 at the age of 22. For a time he followed the meat packing industry, working in St. Louis, Missouri. Even to an old age he was an able and efficient butcher.
(see the Taplin printout for more information and anecdotes.).

****I have questions about the children. Bible record lists 13 children, but the chart lists 15. Also, Caroline has a birth date too close to Ellen. and it appears that George and William would be twins. George, Caroline, and Thomas were not in my original list , dt.

10. George Prusia Jr.

George's first wife Minerva passed away after the Civil War, leaving him 2 young sons to raise. He hired a young girl to help him, named Jilia Ferguson. She had a brother named Andres. Their parents died when they were young. They were farmed out to a German family. She stayed with them until she married George Pussia Jr.

Note: Age of George Prusia Jr. (1828) is younger than that of his mother's marriage to George Sr. (1834, Louisa Rosalia). Researcher mistake??????? (no, george had 3 wives)(check more)
