Welcome! The
Parks & Recreation Department invites everyone to check us out and
see what we have to offer. We have programs, classes and facilities for
all ages. You are important to us. We will be happy to make an appointment
with you and your family, at your convenience, to show you around and explain
any programs that are of interest to you. If you have any recreation activity
experience please consider sharing your skills. If you have time and would
like to volunteer, we need assistance in our existing programs and are
always looking to provide new programs for our youth. If

These Rules of Conduct shall govern participation
in
all Parks & Recreation Department
activities and facilities used during our programs:
The Valdez Parks &
Recreation Department is committed to providing a safe, enjoyable atmosphere
in all of our facilities and programs. Members of the public are to conduct
themselves at all times in a manner that does not interfere with others.
We believe that children and adults of all ages should have an opportunity
to participate in positive recreation experiences of their choice, and
should feel safe and free from harm during that participation.
Anyone who disregards the rules of conduct
is subject to removal from the facility and/or restriction from attending
Parks & Recreation programs or using Parks & Recreation facilities.
Facilities include: All City Parks
& Trails...Teen Center...Civic Center...(Gilson Jr. High School...Hermon
Hutchens Elementary School...Valdez High School when used for Parks and
Recreation activities.) |
Parks & Recreation Department Master Plan Reference:
In 1999 City Council and the Parks and Recreation Commission
adopted a long term master plan.
Copies are available at the Civic Center Parks and Recreation Office
on Clifton Avenue.
