The Float Trip

Guests may choose to experience the Chelatna Lake Lodge float trip.

One of our most popular options available is a one-day float trip. This is an outstanding trip offering great fishing for rainbow and grayling, as well as seasonal salmon. The rapids you encounter range up to Class III, allowing for some excitement, yet easy enough to keep it fun.

pend the morning on a leisurely float of the creek, while you fish, stopping occasionally to test a few holes.
Midday, stop for a deluxe Alaskan picnic, featuring fresh catch expertly prepared by your guide.
Our guides prepare a shore lunch featuring the fish caught during your float trip.

The rapids you will encounter during the float trip are Class III. After lunch, continue your float and fish to your heart's content.
After the float trip, we will deliver you back to the lodge, just a short floatplane flight away, in time for hors d'oeuvres service!
