George Clemons Hight , brother of Goodman Smith Hight Sr.
Joe Brown Hight, brother of Jim Hight. He died young in Texas.

(Joe will be on this page until there is more data, then he will move to a page of his own.)
The gentleman is Ward Crews. He was the son of Vonie Hight Crews. She died and Ward was raised by his grandfather Goodman Smith Hight. He was shown living in household with Goodman in 1880 census. Ward Crews never married and died young soon after this photo was taken.

The couple are Uncle Matt and Aunt Martha Rust. He was Sarah (Sallie) Hight’s brother. He was overseer of the county poor farm for many years.
This is the picture that started the discussion, and consequently led to formation of this website....

June, 2009
Upon further consideration, Joe Mack has made this determination:
The man is:
Wallace Jones. Dixie's first husand.

As of March, 2009, with new assessment by Joe Mack :
The woman with glasses is Susie. The girl in middle is Dixie. The smaller girl on the left is "Little Susie". She is either a cousin or neice of Susie, she lived in Kentucky, and often visited with Susie. The man, so far, is undetermined.

Is it possible that the man could be Susie's brother, thus making the Little Susie his daughter?
In any case, the man is not Clay Hight, and not likely to be Seavy either.
And here is one possibly taken same day.

2 photos of Dixie and Susie together. One was at a state fair or something. Third woman is currently unidentified.

Susie and Clay were like everybody’s favorite aunt and uncle because they were younger and had no children, they more or less spoiled Jim and Dick Hight’s kids. Seavy and Clay were close and bought/sold land together, farmed and traded horses together.
The couple is Mr and Mrs John Edmondson and the girls are Lucille (in the case) and Nettie. (see a bit more about Edmonsons on the "Home Place" page)
