General Trip Information

Welcome to our General Information on dog mushing adventures.  

Bettles Lodge is a full service facility and outfitter and the only year round Lodge in the Brooks Range. We are the only operator to have our own Air Service with aircraft here in Bettles available for support or emergency use. Accommodations while in Bettles are in a "real" lodge not a 'trail conditions' bunkhouse with a lot of other people and no running water. Bettles Lodge has a restaurant, tavern, gift shop, billiards room, and all the modern amenities such as running water, laundry, and telephones.  Some of our rooms even have Jacuzzis!   Our hospitable staff will make your stay a real pleasure.  Bettles Lodge has been providing services to Arctic Travelers since 1950 and is listed on the National Historic Register.  Owners Dan and Lynda Klaes have been operating the Lodge for over twenty years and their experience guarantees you professional, knowledgeable service.  It is important to know not "how long" a company has been in place, but the experience of the owners and managers.  Bettles Lodge is the longest operating Lodge in the Brooks Range and Dan and Lynda provide you service with over 40 years of combined experience.

Equipment

We live in the Arctic and know the importance of quality Arctic Equipment and our experience has taught us what is the finest gear available to make your adventure warm and safe.  Our equipment is cleaned and inspected after each use.  Worn or damaged equipment is replaced or repaired immediately.

Liability Waiver

Our Insurance Carrier requires a liability waiver for participation in our wilderness adventures. We do recommend the purchase of trip insurance. We can provide you with a request form.

Deposit Policy

Deposits are required for booking confirmation. Deposits are refundable if cancellation is made prior to 60 days of scheduled trip date. Less than 60 days, refund will be made only if your trip date can be filled or it may be applied to a different trip date the same or following year. Deposit is 50% of trip cost. Balance is due 30 days prior to departure.
