Bettles Lodge, built in 1948, is a designated National Historic Site and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It offers a blend of history with all the modern amenities. The lodge contains a restaurant, gift shop, tavern, and of course comfortable rooms (some with Jacuzzi's). Aviation fuel and aircraft parking are available at the lodge.

Bettles Air Service

Owned and operated by Bettles Lodge, Bettles Air is licensed and fully insured. Bettles Air provides wilderness transportation throughout the Brooks Range and Gates of the Arctic National Park utilizing float and wheel equipped aircraft such as DeHavilland Beaver and Cessna 185/206. We provide access to the most remote areas of the Brooks Range and Gates of the Arctic National Park as well as flights from Fairbanks to Bettles and charters throughout Alaska in our twin engine nine passenger Piper Navajo. Our pilots are some of the most experienced in Alaska who are willing to share their knowledge of the local area.

Trip Planning

Hiking, backpacking, fishing, river floats, and winter adventures are our specialty. We will be pleased to put together the wilderness trip of a lifetime for you. Our many years of experience help us plan a custom trip just for you. We offer USGS maps, stove fuel, equipment rental for rafts, canoes, stoves, waterproof bags, and other camping gear. Complete package trips including trip planning, transportation and equipment rental.
