DMT 1000/1050 Programming Instructions

  1. Ignore the manual; find the remote control.
  2. If your DMT has been programmed in the past, first wipe out all the old satellite, transponder and channel data. Execute the Factory Default option in the menu; you will find it under the “User Installation” heading. When complete, you will see the main welcome screen asking what language you want. Leave it on English, and select “Next”, to go to the time screen. Change the local time zone to –9:00 and choose daylight savings on or off. Then press “Exit”.
  3. Now we must set up a new satellite; in the main menu, go into "User Installation" and find Antenna Setup. Hit "OK".
  4. Use the down arrow to highlight the satellite block. Hit "OK". In the pop up menu, use the down arrow to highlight "NEWSATXX" where XX will be some number between 1 and 25.
  5. Press the menu key and using the arrow keys highlight “Sat Name Edit”, press OK and enter a new name; AMC-8 is a good one.
  6. Use the down arrow to highlight the LNB Freq 1 block, then use the keypad on the remote to enter 05150 as the LNB frequency. When finished hit "OK". (Note that the display may drop the first zero; however, it is important to enter it as stated). Press "Exit" on the remote and save changes.
  7. You will now be back at the main menu. Go down to the Channel Search Page and Hit OK.
  8. You should now see your new satellite in the window to the right. Use the arrow keys to go down to the frequency block and enter 04056. This is the C-band frequency for ARCS. After entering the frequency go down to the symbol rate block and enter 13250. Make sure the polarity setting is HOR and not VER.
  9. Move down to the Search Sat block and hit "OK". The system will then search the satellite for MPEG services and will list the results. When done, it will cursor will say complete; press OK then press Exit. You may see some code downlink channels which you can delete later since there are no video services on these channels. You will also see four video services including ARCS, Alaska One, Gavel to Gavel and UAS Distance Delivey (although not listed exactly this way). Use the Channel Manager on the main menu to delete undesired channels, rename channels and move them around in the order you desire. When finished, be sure to press Exit several times until the screen says that the system is saving data.
