Arctic 56 was publically acknowledged for its time and donation at Providence Hospital on May 1, 2002.

Arctic 56 Elects 2003 Officers

Arctic 56 held its annual elections for club officers at the club meeting held on March 8, 2003 at Bell's Nursery. Attendance for the meeting was average and Bell's Nursery offered free drinks and popcorn while club members were able to view some of the new pieces introduced for spring. Sean Monico opened the meeting on bright warm day and proceeded to open the floor for nominations. Rosemary Slisz who previously served on the board as the NCC Rep has stepped down due to her appointment by the NCC to serve as the Region 9 Rep. This was quite the honor and Rosemary was recognized in the both the NCC Bulletin as well as during the club meeting. Congratulations to Rosemary!

Another board member, Lynette Walker, was also vacating her position after serving two years. Her contributions, energy and enthusiasm are greatly appreciated and Lynette will actively continue her membership in the club. She is stepping down to give other club members an opportunity as well as be able to devote more time to her family. Thank you Lynette for your support, help and generous time commitments! The club truly appreciates your contribution. After announcements were made, President, Sean Monico reviewed each board position one by and had club members who were present vote for the respective positions. Sean Monico - was recently re-elected as club president during February 2002's general meeting. Sean has been a collector of Christmas in the City since 1995 and specializes in a detailed display of this village in his dining room bay window complete with On30 scale trains, water effects, lighting and more. Sean also spear-headed the Creative Committee for the the recent NCC reception and when he is not working on club business, he works in the oil production & exploration business for BP Exploration Alaska, Inc.

Shannon Jones - was recently elected as club vice president during February 2003's general meeting. She is a collector of Dickens Village and has been enjoying this hobby for several years. Shannon recently hosted the club's successful 2002 Christmas party where the club raised close to $300 from its silent auction. Shannon is retired from the Anchorage School district where she last served as an elementary school principal and now she enjoys volunteering her time for community oriented projects.
Kathy Lawson - is a long time club member and has served in various capacities for the last several years. She was most recently re-elected treasurer and she is a collector of the North Pole Village. Kathy recently retired from the Anchorage Police Department and enjoys the time she spend with her grandkids!
Dale-Ann Hosack - was also recently re-elected as club secretary during February 2002's general meeting. She has been a member since the beginning of thet club and collects the Snow Village collection. When Dale-Ann also served as our Food Committe co-chair and when she is not working on club business, she spends her time working as a teacher in a private school.
Linda Teninty - is a long standing member of the Arctic 56 club and has served in various positions in the past. Linda has been a collector of Snow Village for many years and is well known throughout the Anchorage Community for her efforts with Anchorage Horticulture Coalition and the Anchorage gardening community.
