Overnight in Anchorage at Airport B&B. Pick up your rental vehicle and north to Wasilla. Watch the exciting restart of the annual Iditarod Dog Sled Race to Nome (If you are visiting in March). Overnight in Wasilla. Continue north to the Willow area for an exciting full day of touring the kennel, dog mushing, lunch, and learning to drive your own team. Enjoy a hearty meal, spend the evening near a woodstove, and spend the night in a rustic cabin. Another full day of mushing with lunch on the trail. C ontinue to Trappers Creek to overnight at this winter recreational playground. Drive on to the pioneer town of Talkeetna for an optional Flightseeing tour to Mt. McKinley. Return your rental vehicle and depart from Anchorage. Travel along Turnagain Arm to Seward. Stop at Portage Big Game Wildlife Park to see large animals safari-style. Optional stop at Portage Glacier visitor center. Travel to Cooper Landing along the beautiful Kenai River, famous for its trophy size salmon & trout. At Girdwood, visit Alyeska Ski Resort. Optional tram ride up to the Seven Glaciers Restaurant for a dinner with a view. Try some skiing today! From Alyeska, travel through Anchorage to Wasilla. Travel to the Trappers Creek/ Petersville area . Optional stops along the way include the Eklutna Indian Village, the Iditarod Headquarters in Wasilla, etc. Stay in log cabins with modern comforts. ULTIMATE IDITAROD FLIGHTSEEING March 2 - 7, 2001

Day 1Anchorage Arrival Day 2 Anchorage Iditarod Start Day 3 Wasilla Iditarod Restart at Wasilla - Flight Day 4 Iditarod Flightseeing Day 5 Iditarod Flightseeing Day 6 Wasilla Anchorage - Departure

Meet & assist in Anchorage. Optional flightseeing, shopping, etc. Watch the mushers take off from downtown Anchorage. You will be transferred to Wasilla. From Wasilla, watch the mushers begin the ir journey. 2:30 pm Depart from Wasilla and overfly the Iditarod Trail from Wasilla to Skwentna. See the dogs along the trail or possible stop at Skwentna. 4:00 pm Arrival in Wasilla. Next day, 8:00 am board airplane for flight to Finger Lake or Rainy Pa ss check point. Destination dependent on race progress. 9:00 am Arrive Finger Lake or Rainy Pass check point. You are now in the Alaska Mountain Range 75 miles from Mt. McKinley. 3:00 pm Board plane for return flight to Wasilla. 4:00 pm arrival in Wasil la . Next day 8:00 am Depart Wasilla and depending on how fast the dogs are going, stops will be made at Rainy Pass Lodge, Nikolai, Medfra, or McGrath. 6:00 pm Arrive at Wasilla. You will be picked up in Wasilla and driven back to Anchorage for your depart ure.
