Basic Information

  • Location: Mount Egerton, Gascoyne River, Western Australia, Australia, 24 deg. 46 min. S. Lat., 117 deg. 42 min. E. Long.
  • Type: Now considered an Aubrite Achondrite (AUB), previously classified as an anomalous mesosiderite .
  • Found: 1941
  • Composition: The meteorite consists of nickel-iron metal and enstatite crystals, the largest of which measured 8.5 cm x 5 cm x 2.8 cm. All of the samples below are enstatite crystals.

  • Cube is 1 cm.
